Richard Blanco, Florida International University
Reyna Grande, Author

Co-sponsored by Humanities EDGE and the Cuban Research Institute

Questions of representation of Latinx people and Latinx stories in literary fiction have garnered national and international attention in recent weeks. Political issues related to the representation of marginalized/oppressed / subjected peoples in literature is of course nothing new but are emerging now with special force in the particular context of Latinidad given the complicated dynamics of our sociocultural and political moment. Following short readings selected by the panelists, renowned authors Blanco and Grande will share their thoughts on writing and the politics of representation.
