A webinar featuring academics, practitioners, and policy makers about the current state of the law and policies relevant to disasters and coastal flooding in the United States, and other coastal environmental challenges, with specific focus on Florida. This will be the first in a series of annual inter-disciplinary events led by FIU Law in collaboration with other local, national and international stakeholders both from the public and private sectors, with expertise on the most pressing issues affecting the changes in the environment and the impact of human activity on the land and other natural resources.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
