Miami Black Womxn's Forum

This is a past event.

Friday, February 25, 2022 at 9:30am to 5:00pm

11200 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL, 3319, Graham Center Ballrooms

The Miami Black Womxn’s Forum presented by the Office of Social Justice and Inclusion (OSJI) Women's Center at Florida International University (FIU) was created to call attention to issues directly affecting Black womxn in South Florida. The Forum creates an environment where Black womxn and allies can connect, bond, and network while gaining valuable information and resources on a variety of issues.

In addition to helping fill a void in our FIU and greater Miami community, coming together in a hybrid (online and in-person) fashion in the age of COVID-19 allows us to hold space and be a source of support and empowerment for one another.

Sessions Include:

  • EntrepreneuHERship: That's Businesswoman To You!
  • Hair to the Throne
  • #BlackToHealth
  • Power Moves
  • The Black Woman Law & Order
  • All the Way Up: Professionalism Round Table

What else?

  • In-person attendees - your ticket includes lunch.
  • Forum giveaway bags will be distributed to all in-person attendees.
  • Door prizes will also be raffled off to include printers, swag bags, and gift cards.
  • Come dressed to impress for the Red Carpet.
  • Have fun with our 360 video opp.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
