The 2023 Miami International GuitART Festival presents virtuoso Venezuelan cuatro and guitar player Edward Ramirez and singer Luciana Kube in concert, performing a program of traditional Venezuelan music.

Venezuelan transit is a journey that Luciana and Edward offer us into the contemporaneous performance practice of Venezuelan music into the world music of the 21st century. It summarizes what is more appealing and fascinating about the folkloric tradition of the country, that is its spontaneous approach, its versatility, its variety and diversity. It also portrays the contact between the Venezuelan genres and other styles around the world as well as the contact between the city and the countryside.

This concert is co-sponsored by the Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs.
