The 2023 Miami International GuitART Festival presents the world premiere of “Wynwood Walls” concerto for guitar and orchestra by award-winning composer Stephen Goss, commissioned by MIGF through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, performed by guitarist Mesut Özgen as soloist, and FIU Festival Orchestra, directed and conducted by Maestro Javier Jose Mendoza. The program also includes Federico Bonacossa performing his own compositions for solo guitar and works by Baden Powell and Joaquin Turina as well as a guitar duo by Mesut Özgen.

WYNWOOD WALLS
“Miami is a city with a strong association with the visual arts. My concerto is set up like an art show. Wynwood Walls is based on 11 artworks which give their titles to the 11 short sections. The listener is led from one artwork to another. In performance the artworks could be projected on a screen behind the orchestra. The 11 sections run without a break.”
-Stephen Goss
