Florida International University (FIU) invites its network of alumni, students and friends to an evening reception to celebrate summer and the 125th anniversary of Miami on Wednesday, July 28 at 5 PM at the Florida House in Washington, D.C.  

125 years ago, on July 28 “The City of Miami” was incorporated with 444 citizens. Today, it’s a globally engaged community and an incubator for innovation and talent. Miami is a city of the future, and FIU is proud to be its public research university. 

Join us as we welcome the incoming class of 2025, wrap up an impactful summer of internships and celebrate our hometown with Miami-themed beverages and bites. Come mix and mingle with other Miamians in the District.
