 FIU in Washington, D.C. celebrates the United States Navy is celebrating its 247th anniversary! Navy's birthday remembers the brave men and women who have served our country from the Continental Navy to the present. 

 This year's theme is "On Watch - 24/7 for 247 Years" and there are many ways to observe the Navy Birthday! It might just be the perfect day to visit the U.S. Navy Memorial in Washington D.C. or go to a museum to learn about the history of the Navy. 

Be sure to be on the lookout for any events during Navy Birthday and FIU-related events for the commemoration!

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
