Title.  On the Circumcentered-Reflection Method

Abstract. In this talk, we will introduce the Centralized Circumcentered-Reflection Method (cCRM), a novel iteration scheme designed to identify a point at the intersection of two closed convex sets without resorting to a product space reformulation. Unlike its predecessor, the Circumcentered-Reflection Method (CRM), the cCRM ensures convergence in general convex sets, showing both linear and superlinear convergence under certain conditions. Through a comparative analysis with the Method of Alternating Projections (MAP), we will demonstrate the superior performance of CRM and cCRM, backed by promising numerical experiments and theoretical proofs.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
