POSTPONED: Our Common Future Lecture

This is a past event.

Wednesday, March 18 at 6:15pm

SASC - Student Academic Success Center, Auditorium
11200 SW 8th ST 33199, Student Academic Success Center, Miami, Florida 33199

This event has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The decision has been made out of an abundance of caution with the health and well-being of our guests and community in mind. We hope to have a new date soon.

Renowned oceanographer Sylvia Earle is called “Her Deepness” by the New Yorker, a Living Legend by the Library of Congress and was named the first Hero for the Planet by Time magazine. Earle has led hundreds of research expeditions, involving more than 7,000 hours under water and has written more than 175 scientific, popular publications and books. Today, Earle is president and founder of Mission Blue / The Sylvia Earle Alliance and has been a National Geographic Explorer in Residence since 1988. She was also the first female chief scientist for NOAA. Earle continues to spread her message across the globe through lectures and documentaries. She reminds us there is reason for hope — that continued decline in the health of our ocean is preventable, not inevitable.
