Xavier Cortada’s “May It Please the Court” premiered in 2004 in the Rotunda of the Florida Supreme Court. The collection depicted seven major constitutional law cases originating in Florida. The collection has been on display at FIU College of Law since 2011.

In 2021, Professors Matthew Mirow and Howard Wasserman published Painting Constitutional Law: Xavier Cortada’s Images of Constitutional Rights, a collection of essays analyzing Cortada’s paintings and the legal cases that inspired them. Cortada produced three new paintings, expanding the collection to ten, as part of the project.
