Fundamentally, physics is about finding natural physical laws to describe nature at different scales. Some physicists apply this principle to study economics and society. In this seminar, after showing some classic models and results, Professor Luis Rocha of Ghent University will talk a little about his own research in econophysics and social physics from a complex systems perspective. You might learn a few new things about sex-workers and friendship among animals.
