The FIU Public Humanities Lab and The Humanities Edge, with the support of the Patricia and Philip Frost Art Museum, will host award-winning history podcast producer Sebastian Garcia for an information session for humanities scholars interested in adding their unique voices and scholarship to this knowledge matrix. Topics include: 

  • How podcasting as a form influences the subject matter 

  • The two universal forms of podcasting: people chatting (interview-driven) and people telling stories (narrative-driven) 

  • Practices for “chatting” about academic research in podcasts  

  • Practices for “telling stories” via podcasting 

  • Other techniques when remediating academic research for podcasting 

  • Technical considerations
