In this workshop, we will provide an overview of what Languages for Specific Purposes (LSP) is and how it is growing around the globe across languages, and then examine Portuguese specifically. Through hands-on activities, we will explore how to easily infuse practical lessons and units promoting careers in your classrooms. Finally, teachers will leave the workshop with multiple free resources that will help them return to their schools with ready-to-use materials to engage their students.

The workshop will be held in Portuguese. Open to K-12 Portuguese Language Teachers in South Florida.

Registration required, please go to www.aotpsite.net.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
