Dr. Viswanathan Mohan is chairman of the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation in Chennai, India, an Indian Council of Medical Research Collaborating Centre of Excellence (ICMR-CCoE) and Asia’s largest standalone diabetes research center. He also serves as chairman of Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, an International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Centre of Excellence in Diabetes Care.

Mohan oversees a network of 50 diabetes centers across eight Indian states and maintains electronic health records for more than 700,000 registered diabetes patients. His primary research interests include the epidemiology of diabetes and its complications, diabetes genomics, including monogenic diabetes, precision diabetes and nutrition in diabetes.
