Que Beleza Brasil! Presents: DJ Marcelinho Da Lua

Friday, September 6, 2024 12:30pm to 1:30pm

Dancing to Marcelinho Da Lua's turntables anywhere in the world guarantees a packed dance floor moving along with the joy of sound and the powerful electricity of his impeccable grooves, beats, and mixing. The contagious joy is also present when we listen to any record or piece of music produced by Da Lua. Marcelinho's awarded career is the portrait of the new 21st century Brazilian musician; an artist who blends styles and riffs, working creatively on the many borders between technology, innovation, and tradition. As the owner of a precious record collection, few people know the depths of Brazilian music and all its genres like this DJ and producer from Rio de Janeiro.

The Que Beleza Brasil! program is made possible by the Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center at FIU in partnership with Gene De Souza, producer at Brazilian Nites and host of Café Brasil on 88.9FM WDNA.

Funding comes from LACC’s US Department of Education Title VI grant and the generous support of Brazilian Nites.

Part of LACC's FLAC Lecture Series and LACC's Brazilian Studies Program of Excellence. This event is in Portuguese and is by invitation only for Portuguese language students in South Florida. For more information call 305-348-2856.
