Screening of "Troubled Waters: A Turtle's Tale"

This is a past event.

Friday, November 8, 2019 at 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Wolfe Theater - BBC

Join the Society for Women in Marine Science (SWMS), the FIU Institute of Water and Environment (InWE) and the Student Government Association at BBC for a screening of Troubled Waters: A Turtle's Tale and a post-film panel dicussion led by experts in the field.

A new production from WLRN, Troubled Waters: A Turtle's Tale explores the impact of human behavior on our environment-as seen through the lens of one of South Florida's most beloved and fragile underwater creatures-the sea turtle. Featuring acclaimed actor and ocean activist Ted Danson and narrated by Peter Coyote, this one-hour film will take a critical look at the effects of global warming, water pollution and our “throw-away” plastic lifestyle on this keystone species...and inevitably ourselves.

Popcorn and beverages will be provided. This event is free and open to all FIU students.

I am going to add it to the list of documentaries I recommend to people, it is a great way to show our motivation behind saving the planet.
