https://frost.fiu.edu/whats-on/events/2026/04/slow-art-day.htmlJoin the Frost Art Museum for Slow Art Day, a global event founded in 2010 with a mission to help more people discover the joy of looking at and loving art. We invite you to pause, look deeply, and reconnect with the quiet power of art through moments of reflection, creativity, and shared presence.
"Why Slow?"
When people look slowly at a piece of art they discover they can see and experience art without the help of experts. Come and immerse yourself in a day filled with art and exploration inspired by our current slate of exhibitions.
11 am: Clouds & Connections: A Guided Meditation for Slow Art Day
Isabel Alfonsin-Vittoria will lead a short, guided meditation and reflection inspired by Eduardo Navarro’s Cloud Museum.
12 pm: Reframing the Archive: Accordion Bookmaking

1 pm: Portrait as a tool: lesson, activity, and reflection
Diego Waisman explores how portraiture reveals insights about both the photographer and the subject, considering how aesthetics, technique, and intent shape the message embedded within a photograph.

Slow Art Day at the Frost Art Museum FIU is dedicated to the memory of Helena Venero.
