#MathProfesssor Ziad Musslimani's research is dedicated to the study of linear and nonlinear wave propagation in dispersive media, with a specific emphasis on the formation of coherent structures in nonlinear optical media and Bose-Einstein condensation. He holds the position of Director of Applied and Computational Mathematics at Florida State University and is also the recipient of the Christopher Hunter Professorship of Mathematics.
Abstract: In this colloquium a new class of space-time nonlocal integrable nonlinear partial differential equations are introduced. Their properties in the form of infinite number of conservations laws are given. The Cauchy problem associated with these evolution equations is exactly solved via a novel nonlocal Riemann-Hilbert method. Soliton solutions are presented.
