Every semester the College of Engineering and Computing organizes a special ceremony called the Induction to the Profession Ceremony to recognize its graduating students and induct them into the Order of the Engineer, the Order of the Constructor or the Order of the Computing Profession, based on their majors.

The Order of the Engineer, Constructor, and Computing Profession is modeled after the Canadian Ritual of the Calling of an Engineer. The Orders were initiated in the United States to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in their respective profession, to bridge the gap between training and experience, and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer, constructor, or computing professional.

If you are graduating this semester, click on the following link to access the registration form. You must register by July 12th. We are allowing 2 guests per student to attend.

Please reach out to Amanda Gonzalez via email, gonzaama@fiu.edu, or by phone, (305) 348-8334, with any questions or concerns.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
