The Systems Research Laboratory (SyLab) at FIU conducts research in the area of Operating Systems. This talk will provide an overview of SyLab's research agenda, recent projects, members, collaborators, and sponsors.
Short bio:
Prof. Rangaswami received a B.Tech. degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India. He obtained M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of California at Santa Barbara where he was the recipient of the Dean’s Fellowship and the Dissertation Fellowship. Raju is currently an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Florida International University where he directs the Systems Research Laboratory. His research interests include operating systems, storage systems, virtualization, security, and real-time systems. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER award, Department of Energy Early CAREER Principal Investigator (ECPI) award, IBM Faculty Award 2011, NetApp Faculty Fellowship 2011, FIU Faculty Award for Excellence in Research and Creative Activities 2011, NetApp Faculty Fellowship 2013 and 2016, an Intel University Research Office Award 2013-2016, and the FIU SCIS Excellence in Student Mentoring Award. Dr. Rangaswami has served as Program Co-Chair for the USENIX FAST conference in 2018. Dr. Rangaswami is also serving on the Editorial Board for the Springer Journal of Distributed and Parallel Databases.
