U.S. & the Middle East: Understanding Influence & Policy

Examine U.S. engagement in the Middle East through diplomacy, economic cooperation, and regional strategy, with a focus on the Abraham Accords and partnerships with countries such as the UAE, Bahrain, and Morocco. Featuring perspectives from embassy and policy leaders, the discussion unpacks how trade, security, energy, and innovation shape U.S. foreign policy and regional stability. Learn how initiatives like AASPIRE—the Abraham Accords Science Partnership for Innovation and Research Excellence—support collaboration in science, technology, and people-to-people engagement across the region while gaining practical tools to analyze international influence and global policymaking.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
