Join the Federalist Society for The DEI Detox Diaries: Harvard’s Post-SFFA Reality Check, where we dive into the implications of the Supreme Court's landmark 2023 decision in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard. The ruling denounced the use of racial preferences in college admissions as unconstitutional, challenging the practice of identity-based decision-making in education. However, the reach of the DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) ideology extends far beyond higher education. In this event, we explore how the Students for Fair Admissions decision reasoning could impact a wide range of institutions and discuss the potential future of DEI initiatives across society.

Our featured speaker, Devon Westhill, President and General Counsel of the Center for Equal Opportunity, will provide expert insight into these issues. As a leading voice on civil rights law and policy, Westhill brings a wealth of experience and a compelling perspective on the evolving legal and cultural landscape surrounding diversity initiatives.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
