In tribute to Women’s History Month, Marcia Jo Zerivitz, LHD, Founding Executive Director of the Jewish Museum of Florida–FIU will present a PowerPoint lecture that tells stories of outstanding women in Florida Jewish history. In 60 minutes, you will “meet” Florida Jewish women who made history in the areas of agriculture, business, law, politics, the military, education, sports, the arts, philanthropy and community organizations. Even the first Miss Florida in 1885 was Jewish! Their accomplishments have improved the quality of life for all the people in Florida.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
