This Speaker Series talk will describe measurement-based care, a communication and clinical decision-making tool that is an evidence-based mental health practice. The presenter will describe measurement-based care and present research related to the practice.

Learning Objectives:

 

1. Describe the roles that measurement-based care play in youth mental health care.

2. Identify barriers to implementing measurement-based care.

3. Discuss the limitations of current research on measurement-based care and the implications of these limitations for the successful implementation of measurement-based care.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Jensen-Doss is a Professor and the Director of Clinical Training in the Department of Psychology at the University of Miami, where she leads the CIELO (Child Implementation and Effectiveness) Lab. She conducts effectiveness and implementation studies focused on improving mental health care services for youth, with a primary emphasis on the integration of assessment and treatment to improve clinical and organizational decision-making in community mental health settings. Her areas of expertise related to implementation science include developing and evaluating training approaches for clinicians, using practice-based evidence for program evaluation, developing measures of implementation determinants (e.g., measures of clinician attitudes toward evidence-based practices), and measuring intervention fidelity.

Continuing Education:

All sessions are free and provide continuing education credits for mental health professionals.
