Join the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs and Books & Books for a conversation with Dr. Dan Royles about his recent book To Make the Wounded Whole.  This compelling work offers the first history of African American AIDS activism in all its depth and breadth. It introduces a diverse constellation of activists who pursued a wide array of grassroots approaches to slow the epidemic’s spread and address its impacts. Through interlinked stories from Philadelphia and Atlanta to South Africa and back again, this book documents the diverse, creative, and global work of African American activists in the decades-long battle against HIV/AIDS. Dr. Royles will be joined by Dr. Requel Lopes of the World AIDS Museum.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
