Tuesday Times Roundtable
TTR is FIU’s weekly series of moderated conversations around current global issues and trends. Conversations bring into play the multiple viewpoints of students, faculty, staff, and community members. All sessions are absolutely FREE and lunch is on us!

TTR: Creativity Meets Sustainability: Youth for SDGs and the 2030 Agenda

  • Presenter: Scarlett Lanzas, Founder & CEO, Accountable Impact

  • Description: The creative industries are all around us. They can be seen in the clothes we wear, the buildings we live and work in, the music we listen to, the books we read, the stories we share, the museums we visit, the apps we use and in countless other places. Young people play a crucial role in SDG implementation through their creativity, energy, and determination. This session will focus on current best practices on SDGs initiatives in South Florida and present an activation platform for upcoming opportunities for young leaders to get involved in SDG acceleration and innovation.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
