Description: This session will offer a reflection on International Women’s Day, its significance, and its impact for women globally, while opening a discussion for addressing the ways that women’s rights struggles continue to take shape across borders, national contexts, cultures, and communities. Although struggles for women’s rights are improving within some nations, many women across others continue to struggle for the same recognition, gender equalities, and access to economic and political power as their male counterparts. Additionally, this discussion will address the role of patriarchy and increasing conservativism in pushing the needle back for women’s rights globally.
