On January 3rd, the Trump Administration launched Operation Absolute Resolve, a military operation aimed at apprehending Nicolás Maduro to face narcoterrorism charges at the United States. As a result of the strike, Delcy Rodríguez assumed the role of acting president while the U.S. seeks control over the Venezuelan oil.
