Join us on January 23 at 11:00 AM in SIPA II, 102 for the first event addressing the recent events in Venezuela.

On January 3rd, the Trump Administration launched Operation Absolute Resolve, a military operation aimed at apprehending Nicolás Maduro to face narcoterrorism charges at the United States. As a result of the strike, Delcy Rodríguez assumed the role of acting president while the U.S. seeks control over the Venezuelan oil. The incursion has not only opened a new phase in the political dynamic in Venezuela but also signals a new era in the relationships between the United States and the hemisphere.

This Teach-In brings together leading analysts and prominent FIU scholars to examine the profound domestic and international consequences of these actions.
