Celia Cruz, “La Guarachera de Cuba”, the Queen of Salsa (1925-2003), one of the top performers of Latin music during the second half of the 20th century. The Cuban Bolero, music genre with deep popular roots which still beats in the soul of romantic people. Celia Cruz and Bolero, two immortal stars that converge in this presentation ... because Celia also sang bolero. Although perhaps less known, Celia interpreted and recorded boleros with the Sonora Matancera in Cuba, as well as with the orchestras of Tito Puente, Johnny Pacheco and Willie Colon, among others, during his stay in New York. In this lecture, the musical life of Celia will be summarized, focusing on her role as an interpreter of bolero. Fragments of this genre pieces recorded by Celia throughout his glorious career will also be heard.
