Kaira Jewel Lingo, former Buddhist nun, draws on her training with Thich Nhat Hanh to provide a practical and inspirational guide for navigating some of life's most difficult experiences. In this experiential reading group, we will discuss the ancient teachings shared and explore practices that can serve as a resource and refuge during times of transition and challenge. The reading/practice group sessions are spread out to allow time to engage with and reflect on a different teaching and mindfulness practice each week. There are no assigned readings for the initial session which will instead focus on participants getting to know one another.

All are welcome, whether you're a first-time or an experienced meditator!

Bring your dinner or favorite evening beverage and join us for our first CAT@night reading group!

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
