This session provides strategies and techniques for building a literature review, staying up on new literature, and keeping track of sources and searches.

 

  • AI Tools for Library Research

With an introduction to a suite of AI resources tailored to academia and academic prompt engineering, we will explore the use of generative AI tools to facilitate research.

 

  • EndNote for Citation and Bibliography Management

EndNote is web and desktop-based citation management software that facilitates easy bibliography creation, including integrated use with MS Word and Google Docs.

 

Library Research Refresher

Are you a new student or do you need a refresher on using the FIU Libraries' resources and services to support your research? This workshop will help you with Library services and policies, research strategies and search techniques, subject & interdisciplinary databases, and finding books & eBooks.

 

  • Research Retreat for Upper-Division and Graduate 

Join librarians for an intensive program designed to provide upper-division and graduate students with the tools, resources, and support necessary to significantly advance their research projects, papers, dissertations, or thesis work. This retreat will offer an environment conducive to in-session productivity where participants can immerse themselves in their research, receive expert guidance, and collaborate with reference librarians to maximize their progress. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Hybrid: In-person TBA or join us via Zoom. Space is limited; RSVP. Please bring your laptop or tablet with you.

 

  • Systematic Reviews

This workshop is an introduction to systematic reviews: what they are and why they are important. The session covers what to consider before deciding to conduct this type of evidence synthesis, provides an overview of the process, focuses on research question development, and demonstrates the type of searching required for these projects.

 

  • Where Should I Publish My Research?

This workshop focuses on evaluative questions, criteria, and methods you can use to analyze and identify appropriate, relevant, and legitimate journals to publish your research and scholarship.

 

  • Zotero for Citation and Bibliography Management

Zotero is a web-based citation management software that facilitates easy bibliography creation.
