Experience andPlay Duo (violin and viola) in an evening of compelling new music by Ezequiel Viñao, Jacob David Sudol, Kaija Saariaho, Orlando Jacinto Garcia, and Carolyn Chen.

Viñao’s work brings an expressive, rhythmically charged voice to contemporary chamber music. Sudol creates intimate sound worlds shaped by quiet detail and reflection. Saariaho, one of the most influential composers of our time, is known for her radiant colors and immersive atmospheres. Garcia’s music is defined by its spacious, contemplative character, inviting listeners into a heightened awareness of sound and stillness. Chen offers a poetic modern voice, weaving acoustic nuance with a refined contemporary sensibility.

Together, these pieces form a beautifully varied program—shifting from delicate textures to bold gestures—and showcase And Play Duo’s remarkable ability to bring clarity, energy, and deep musical curiosity to everything they perform.

The festival is presented by the FIU Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts, with support from the City of Miami Beach, the Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center at Florida International University, FIU Miami Beach Urban Studios, and The Betsy South Beach Hotel and The Betsy Writers Room. The Avalon Hotel Miami Beach on Ocean Drive is the official host hotel for the festival.
