Do you need someone to talk to? Are current events, school, work, or family taking a toll on your well-being?  Consider joining our Brave Zone sessions. Here, you will learn coping mechanisms,  have the option to share your experiences, and be part of a supportive group environment.

The FIU Business Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma will host the upcoming sessions in its “Brave Zone” series, which was established to raise awareness about the importance of student mental health and wellness.

Please join our sessions to learn new skills and enrich your student experience. Our session will feature Sofia Fernandez, a post-doctoral associate from FIU’s Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work. Fernandez, a clinically trained social worker with a doctorate in social management, will provide insight on management techniques, building resiliency, and the mindset needed to be calm in difficult situations.

Monday, February 1, 2021 | 6:00 -7:00 p.m.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
