Join The Betsy Hotel and Miami Beach Urban Studios for a conversations with three emerging writers whose writing reflects their diverse backgrounds.

This event features three emerging writers whose writing reflects their diverse backgrounds: SAMUEL AUTMAN – writes about growing up and coming into his own as an award-winning Black Gay writer., YANIYAH “PATHFINDER” PIERSON confronts suppression and promotes racial healing by drawing upon the wisdom traditions of North and South American and West Africa, & CONNIE PERTUZ-MEZA is a Colombian American writer, inspired to pen pieces about her life, family, and ancestors. All three writers were just appointed to the Board of Directors of VOICES OF OUR NATION ARTS FOUNDATION. Hosting this event is Evelina Galang, President of VONA Voices and Creative Writing Professor at University of Miami.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses.
