“Book as Artifact” Panel

Please join us for a panel moderated by Gayle Williams, FIU Libraries, exploring the history of book production and their transformation into works of art. The panel will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 2nd at 3:30pm at the Frost Art Museum, room 107.

Panelists include; Heather Blatt, Assistant Professor of English at FIU who specializes in the literature and culture of late medieval England from the end of the fourteenth century to the opening decades of the sixteenth, Althea (Vicki) Silvera, Head of Special Collections, University Archivist, and Curator for Gallery at the Green Library, who will be presenting an overview of First Folio facsimile editions that are on display at Green Library, and Jennifer Low, Associate Professor of English at Florida Atlantic University,  who will be addressing the typography and woodcut design in the edition of Hamlet produced by the scene designer Edward Gordon Craig.

This is a kick off event for the month-long celebration of the First Folio at FIU.
