Climate Change: Getting Past Politics to Consensus
April 18 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Featuring John Schwartz, Science Reporter for The New York Times
John Schwartz has covered climate change for The New York Times since 2014. In his 17 years at The Times, he has written about the space program, legal issues, business, infrastructure and many other topics, in almost every section of the newspaper. His reporting has taken him from the Mojave Desert to Moscow, Nanjing to Nashville—but most often, to New Orleans, where he has spent more than ten years writing about the collapse of the city’s levees in Katrina, the rebuilding process and state’s coastal erosion crisis. His Louisiana reporting appeared in a special section of The Times on Feb. 20. He also writes a regular humor column on investing for The Times, and is the author of,”This Is the Year I Put My Financial Life in Order,” published this month. He has also worked for The Washington Post and Newsweek. He lives in New Jersey with his college sweetheart, Jeanne Mixon; they met the week before classes started for their freshman year at The University of Texas at Austin.
