Our Common Future Student Lunch- Speaker: Nancy Grimm
The School of Environment, Arts and Society is hosting a student lunch with Dr. Nancy Grimm, our distinguished speaker for the 2018 Our Common Future signature lecture. Dr. Nancy Grimm studies the interaction of climate variation and change, human activities, and ecosystems. Her interdisciplinary research in both urban and stream ecosystems has focused on disturbance, resilience, and biogeochemical processes. Nancy is a nationally recognized sustainability and urban resiliency leader. She currently co-directs a Sustainability Research Network focused on urban resilience to weather-related extreme events. She was President and is a Fellow of the Ecological Society of America. She is an editor of Earths Future, a past program director for the U.S. National Science Foundation and senior scientist for the U.S. Global Change Research Program, and a lead author for two chapters of the U.S. National Climate Assessment, released in 2014.
