April 12, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Dr. Joanna Tucker (Montgomery Botanical Center)

Joanna’s academic and professional background has been broadly interdisciplinary, with a consistent focus on tropical plant ecology, including research and fieldwork on secondary forest regrowth in the Brazilian Amazon, plant population ecology, and phenology. Joanna developed a passion for palms during her first visit to the Amazon in 1994, and ever since, she has continuously returned to research questions that investigate the remarkable and unique biology of the palm family.

Joanna’s research interests include palm ecology and phenology, reproductive ecology, and the conservation and sustainable use of plants.
