Art Thinking: How to Carve Out Creative Space in a World of Schedules, Budgets, and Bosses – Career Webinar

Anyone from CEO to freelancer knows how hard it is to think big, let alone follow up on that big idea, while under pressure to get things done. Amy will share with you practical principles, inspiration, and a healthy dose of pragmatism to help you navigate the difficulties of balancing creative thinking with driving toward results.

You will:

    • Learn how to adopt a mindset that looks at problems, situations, and issues differently.
    • Learn how to integrate art and the tools of business to protect space for open-ended exploration and manage risks on your way to success.
    • Move from saying “Wouldn’t it be cool if . . . ?” to realizing your highest aims, helping you build creative skills you can apply to all facets of business and life. Warm, honest, and unexpected,
    • Re-imagine your work and life—and even change the world—while enjoying the journey from point A.
Amy will remind you that if you are making a work of art in any field, you aren’t going from point A to point B. You are inventing point B. You are breaking new creative ground!

Join Amy for a refreshing and inspiring discussion on creativity in the workplace and beyond– that will draw on art, psychology, science, sports, law, business, and technology –all to help you land big ideas in the practical world.

Presenter: Evan Tarver

Evan is a copywriter, fiction author, and business owner with experience in finance and technology.

He contributes nonfiction articles to various business publications, writes a weekly blog on self-improvement at www.evantarver.com, has a published personal finance book, and openly admits that he’s a “business nerd.”

However, he’s also a regular nerd who pens full-length fiction novels that span from the historical past to the dystopian future.

Each piece of writing, whether it be a one-page finance article or a 400-page fiction story, is meant to provide readers with lasting enjoyments and actionable takeaways that better their lives and encourage them to act.

In 2002, I was named Family Physician of the Year by the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians. In 2010, I became a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Because ultimately, the key to true happiness is self-improvement through positive experiences, and all of Evan’s works seek to accelerate that self-improvement and spread those positive experiences.

Some of his ideas explore the social environment on the macro level, some of his ideas explore the transformative power of personal growth on the micro level – while most of them probably fall somewhere in-between. But everything is written to inspire people to shift the way they think; it may not be a big shift, but it will always be a positive one.
