Fourth Annual Colombian Student & Professional Conference

Why Attend?

  • We are Colombia! It is important for all attendees to immerse themselves in all areas of Colombian culture, beyond what is commonly portrayed by the media. We intend to provide this experience during the conference by bringing speakers who can discuss Colombia’s cultural diversity, importance, influence in its society, and how it has changed its image worldwide. In addition, various performances will be taking place during lunch break; including traditional dances by UF Sabor Latino dance team. 
  • We are professional development! Students and different entities interested in Colombian industry, will have the opportunity of having different speakers that will explain how culture and different factors are hand in hand with the industrial and economic development of a country like Colombia. 
  • We are Philanthropy! The idea of this conference is through different panels showcase the different ideals about how Colombia is paving its way to progress. Attendees to the conference, especially non Colombian attendees, will be able to understand more about the Colombian culture, how the industrial development has progressed over time and how its economy is growing.

Career Expo

This event will host over 50 employers, 100 professionals and 25 industry leaders for all majors and careers.  

If you are travelling from MMC then you may ride free (return trip) on the GPE shuttle and to attend Career EXPO at BBC.  Registration to ride the shuttle will end once capacity has been met or by March 29th at 12 noon.  Please complete registration to ride shuttle on handshake.

The Lunch Time Sessions Employer Led Webinar Series with Americorps NCCC Recruiter, Teodoro Rivera will be providing information on job opportunities with Americorps NCCC. He will also provide a quick workshop on “What to do with your Gap Year.”

The workshop will cover information on options available and what to do to get your resume experience. Many students are interested in having a year break in between grad school or a work break. Ben Branch is a construction and real estate development enthusiast with over 25 years of experience ranging from hands-on labor to senior executive responsibility. His market sector involvement includes commercial office buildings (low, mid & high rise), industrial warehouse, manufacturing facilities, single and multifamily residential, military officers retirement village and various public sector ventures with combined project values exceeding half a billion dollars.

Mr. Branch completed his Bachelor of Architectural Engineering – Construction Management from Penn State University in 1997. In 2014, he earned an MBA from Florida International University. During his MBA program, he received recognition from both the faculty and students for his exceptional leadership skills. He is also chairman of the FIU MBA Advisory Board.
