Fourth Annual Colombian Student & Professional Conference

Why Attend?

  • We are Colombia! It is important for all attendees to immerse themselves in all areas of Colombian culture, beyond what is commonly portrayed by the media. We intend to provide this experience during the conference by bringing speakers who can discuss Colombia’s cultural diversity, importance, influence in its society, and how it has changed its image worldwide. In addition, various performances will be taking place during lunch break; including traditional dances by UF Sabor Latino dance team. 
  • We are professional development! Students and different entities interested in Colombian industry, will have the opportunity of having different speakers that will explain how culture and different factors are hand in hand with the industrial and economic development of a country like Colombia. 
  • We are Philanthropy! The idea of this conference is through different panels showcase the different ideals about how Colombia is paving its way to progress. Attendees to the conference, especially non Colombian attendees, will be able to understand more about the Colombian culture, how the industrial development has progressed over time and how its economy is growing.

Drawing Salon

Our Drawing Salons offer an opportunity to develop artistic skills while sitting in a relaxing gallery environment. Each two-hour session is led by practicing artists, museum educators or university faculty. Drawing materials and stools are provided. All ranges of drawing experience are welcome. This event is free and open to the public.

Frost Family Day featuring Zotz Artz

Join us for a day of creative art marking using specially designed tools that make art accessible for children with and without disabilities. The Zot Artz approach to making art offers individuals of all abilities an opportunity for creative expression through arts and mobility.

Feminist Zine Workshop

In celebration of Women’s History Month, this event is intended to raise awareness of women’s issues. FIU students are invited to create their own feminist zines. Zines are self-made and independent, as are women.


Zines are a personal form of expression that defies mass-media expectations and constructs. This event seeks to encourage conversation on women’s rights and representation in art and society.
