It was really interesting and informative

It was great

Very informative presentations followed by a great discussion during the Q & A. A lot of helpful information was provided.

The seminar was very informative about fume hoods and labelling solutions but the connections issues with BBC should be addressed earlier to minimize waiting time of the participants already there on time and so that the allocated time is not supersede.
Thank you for making this knowledge easily accessible.

First presentation was word heavy in the slides. Perhaps more case scenario reviews and pictures of existing hoods at FIU and other campuses would be more helpful. Second presentation sounded like a sales pitch. It would be better if more of the science aspects would be covered. Third presentation was great and useful with the QA about waste, tags, bar codes, inventory, EHS assistant, etc. Overall, the event was well organized (in spite of the content of the first two presentations).

-->Left during the TEL presentation<--. I found the TEL presentation to be a complete waste of my time. As a lab manager, I am not interested in the cost savings of their equipment or the proper functioning of rooftop hardware, nor I want to read extensive regulation paragraphs in a powerpoint presentation. It would have been much better to see graphical examples on the proper use of hoods in the labs and how to avoid not-evident operator errors. Missed opportunity. I cannot comment on the rest of the event as I did not stay past the TEL presentation.

Statement of Free Expression

FIU endorses the Florida Board of Governors' Statement of Free Expression to support and encourage full and open discourse and the robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on our campuses. In addition to supporting this legal right, we view this as an integral part of our ability to deliver a high-quality academic experience for our students, engage in meaningful and productive research, and provide valuable public service. This includes fostering civil and open dialogue in support of critical thinking in and out of the classroom, including events hosted by the university.
